SWTOR Subjective Selection Mission Guide
This guide will help you through the "Subjective Selection" mission, the third part of a long series of quests that are required for the Kessan's Landing Datacron achievement in SWTOR.
Datacrons are collectables scattered around the galaxy in Star Wars: The Old Republic. Each Datacron contributes towards your Legacy's passive stats permanently. Furthermore, they also provide interesting Lore and Codex Entries about the Old Republic era.
This quest is a continuation from the Advanced Hypercoolant, High-Grade Durasteel and Thermal Regultor Unit quests.
Pick up Subjective Selection from the Geothermal Research Repository terminal inside the Runoff Control in the south of Ardak Point.
With all the required components gathered, next step is to locate a Suitable Test Lab. The entrance to this Lab can be seen as you exit Runoff Controls.
Power up the lab by clicking the panel at the door, then examine the three pieces of equipment that is indicated with a green arrow - Irradiated Lava Sample, Supplies and Workbench.
With a Test Lab set up and equipment gathered, you need to find a suitable test subject. The map will indicate a few locations you can scan for discarded droids. However, you will find what you are looking for in a field near a farmstead north of Orabina Cove travel point.
In the soil of this field you can spot the little feet of several Damaged Gonk Droids. Scan the gonk with your binoculars by clicking the icon at your mission log.
Despite being buried in the soil, the gonk droid has only suffered minor damage and is suitable for your geothermal shielding test. Go ahead and recover the little guy and bring it back to the lab.
Arriving back at your test lab, place the gonk on the Workbench to assess the damage. It turns out that the poor guys is in need of some repair and new parts.
First of, go purchase a Droid Repair Kit from the Parts Vendor near the cantina in Ardak Point. Remember to open the repair kit in your inventory.
Secondly, access a the Wiring Box inside the Ardak Point cantina and "borrow" some Shielded Wiring.
Third, defeat a Liberator Droid near the area you also find the Worldboss FR3-D0M and loot a Motivator Unit.
Bring back the newly aquired parts to your test lab and repair the gonk droid at the Workbench.
Place the gonk droid on the Activator, followed by activation via the control terminal next to it. It will initially fail, prompting you to try again.
Install the Prototype Shielding Components onto the Gonk droid named "Test Subject" by clicking the temporary ability icons, which can be done in any order. The Test Subject will be shimmering from the newly installed shield.
Click the Test Protocol Terminal to initiate the testing of the Test Subject's shield. The Gonk droid will step onto the Lava Pit, where the test unfortunately will fail, and the droid will explode. Check the damaged droid parts scattered around in the Lab.
Go back to the Databank Terminal in Runoff Control for some "assistance". You will receive a Troubleshooting Guide that you can click on at your mission log. This will end your mission and make the next one available - Good Calibrations.
