SWTOR Advanced Hypercoolant Mission Guide

This guide will help you through the "Advanced Hypercoolant" mission, the second part of a long series of quests that are required for the Kessan's Landing Datacron achievement in SWTOR.

Datacrons are collectables scattered around the galaxy in Star Wars: The Old Republic. Each Datacron contributes towards your Legacy's passive stats permanently. Furthermore, they also provide interesting Lore and Codex Entries about the Old Republic era.

This quest is a continuation from the Schematic Aspirations quest.

Pick up Advanced Hypercoolant from the Geothermal Research Repository terminal inside the Runoff Control in the south of Ardak Point.
Note: If you haven't already, you might as well pick up High-Grade Durasteel and Thermal Regulator Unit while you're here anyways. You will need to do these two quests as well.

Travel to the Starlit Pass, north of Imperial Waystation on Ilum. There you have to collect a Hypercoolant Container from one of the clickable barrels around the Talz buildings.
Note: The Talz in the Starlit Pass area are friendly to Republic players, but enemies to Imperial players.

Once you've looted your Hypercoolant Container, next step is to extract 6 Hypercoolant Chemicrystals. These Chemicrystals can be dug out from Hypercoolant Chemicrystal Deposits around the Eastern Ice Shelf area. Look for the icy lightsources with a red arrow pointing down upon them, signifying that they can be looted.

Next you have to collect an Enzymer Probe Kit from an Enzymer Probe Unit at either the Republic or the Imperial Waystation.

This Enzymer you have just looted, allows you to collect a blood sample from a Tauntaun without killing it. It might become aggressive, but it will pass after a few seconds. You can easily find these Wandering Tauntauns in the surrounding area of the Waystations. Once you've located a Tauntaun, target it and click the "Enzymer" icon at your mission log, followed by the "Hypercoolant Container" icon to combine the chemical ingredients.

The final step is to expose the container to extreme cold on Ilum. That means you have to deliberately run into the Exhaustion Zone south-east of Republic Base Camp. This is the same area you find the Blue Mastery Datacron. Keep running inside the Exhaustion Zone until you get the "Completion" message and an update stating to "Verify Hypercoolant Mixture".

You can return to Kessan's Landing to verify, even before you have completed High-Grade Durasteel and Thermal Regulator Unit, or you can wait and return with all three missions to verify.
